The Downtown Improvement District, established in 2005, provides supplemental City services in the downtown core. Ambassadors wearing bright yellow uniforms have a highly visible presence on the the downtown streets. The mission of the DID is to improve the quality of life in downtown providence. Through safety patrols, landscape beautification, graffiti, and daily trash removal, the DID strives to make the City clean, safe and welcoming to all visitors and residents.
