Where to Eat & Drink in Myrtle Beach, SC

One of the most incredible places to vacation is Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I feel like everyone flocks to Florida or California beaches, but Myrtle Beach is really the best place to go. The water is warm. The beaches are white sand and blue water. And, best of all, the boardwalk for the beach is lively and maxed out with amazing food. So, go catch some rays, swim in the ocean, then grab some fantastic food.
Get Hooked
Regarding seafood, Hook & Barrel believes that the fresher the better. The biggest claim to fame Hook & Barrel has is that they are home to the 2018 SC Chef Ambassador, Heidi Vukov. Which is a brag they deserve. She created a fresh menu that can’t be beaten by anyone. With a She Crab Soup they cook right in front of you in the Steam Galley, you know you’re in the right place. Followed by Bourbon Bacon and a freshly caught Golden Spiced Tuna, you will wonder when you were escorted to Valhalla with this massive meal. Then there’s the drink menu. With specialty cocktails like the Rosemary Maple Sour, you’re sure to find a good drink pair. If you can’t decide, then the food has recommended pairings to make the decision easier anyway.

Meals from the Top
Maybe the beach bums know a thing or two about always being in view of the ocean. At least, RipTydz agrees. RipTydz is an oceanfront grille and rooftop bar that does a good job of convincing you to move within walking distance. Start your meal with a Rip’n Shrimp, then face the toughest decision of your day by choosing between Shrimp & Grits, sugar Glazed Halibut, and a Mac & Cheese Burger. Luckily, the bar will keep you from getting too parched as you cook a sunburn while you decide which meal to dine on.

Watchin’ the Sun Bake
Everyone knows that there is a common thread amongst beaches, and that’s that Jimmy Buffet has put a Margaritaville there. Even though it’s become a whole brand, every Margaritaville is slightly different. The drinks really shine here. They’re pretty much all named after a Jimmy Buffet song, and they’re all made to perfection. Just make sure you watch for the pop top so you don’t have to cruise on back home. Then there is my personal favorite: the food. Starting with the fantastic Volcano Nachos, you will be able to have them as a meal, or appetizer to share. Then you can keep your beach body by getting a salad, or really capitalize on being on vacation with a seafood combo that can’t be beat.

No Sand in These Sandwiches
It’s not always required to partake of seafood when you’re on the beach. Sometimes, burgers are the way to go. River City Cafe offers some of the best hamburgers in all of Myrtle Beach. It’s a great place to keep up with college sports too, but River City really shines when you grab a drink and enjoy a fantastic burger. The Surf-N-Turf will give you a fried popcorn shrimp finish to your burger, or you can really test yourself with a Double Dawg Dare Ya Burger. There are two options: Kitchen Sink Burger Platter or the OMG Burger Platter. Good luck with either of those.
