More than 300 years old, Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens is a perfect first stop on a visit to Mount Pleasant. Founded in 1681, the grounds are tree-lined and picturesque. Whether you want to just enjoy a walk or take a tour and learn about the grounds and Gullah, this spot is can’t-miss.
Explore Mount Pleasant’s Early History
The Old Village in the historic district of Mount Pleasant is one of its biggest attractions. Several villages developed near the Charleston Harbor, with Mount Pleasant being one of them. At the center of the attractions is the Hibben House, one of the area’s oldest homes, named for James Hibben, who purchased the land.
Ride the Boat to Fort Sumter

Heart of Gold is another gem (no pun intended) in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant.
