The 1824 House Inn of Waitsfield, Vermont is a charming eight bedroom inn located in Vermont’s Mad River Valley. Once an operational farmhouse, the 1824 house has been transformed into a welcoming country inn and beautiful event facility. We are proud to offer our guests comfortable rooms with private baths, complimentary Vermont-style breakfasts, easy access to the scenic Mad River Path, an acclaimed restaurant and a river-front pasture which serves as the property’s most celebrated event site. The 1824 House Inn stands beneath giant Sugar Maple trees, beside a pasture that is still hayed by a local farmer. Around here it is easy to imagine a previous era; a time that was simple and casual, in a rural sort of way. Our restaurant is speckled with antique kitchen tools; the inn is furnished with ‘well-cured’ furniture and is modestly decorated. Floral prints and priceless antiques just aren’t our style. We pride ourselves on authentic country charm and friendly service and it is those things that make the 1824 House Inn an ideal getaway for couples and families alike.
