About The Loon Center at Markus Wildlife Sanctuary

Since 1975, the Loon Preservation Committee has worked to preserve loons and their habitats in New Hampshire through monitoring, research, management and education.

Visit the Loon Center for exhibits and educational programs as well as the Loon's Feather Gift Shop.

Also walk the trails of the Markus Wildlife Sanctuary - comprised of 200 acres of upland forests, marshes, ponds, clear-running streams and over 5,000 feet of pristine shoreline on Lake Winnipesaukee.These diverse habitats make this sanctuary home to a wide host of plant and animal species. Two walking trails wind their way through the Sanctuary.
