Whenever anyone asks why a guy like me from New Bedford MA is cooking Mexican food I usually don't tell them the long boring story of how I was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time during my first five years in San Francisco with a wonderful Mexican family as I was dating a Mexican woman…
      or that my wife Kate lived in Zihuatanejo for a year and because of our shared interest in the country and the people we traveled together throughout Mexico…..
      or the fact that for the 20 years I cooked in San Francisco my kitchens were made up entirely of Mexicanos, Guatamantecos & Nicaraguenzas who shared with me the language, the music and the customs of their people and best of all how to prepare the simple yet full flavored food. Those great guys who are hard workers and passionate people. Those who named me Pedro.
