Huntington, New York, may not be Manhattan, but that hardly means this Long Island locale is offering up lackluster eats. You can find plenty of tasty spots to dine and drink during your trip to what is one of Long Island’s favorite towns. Try one of our top picks below to get started.
If you're looking for casual comfort food
The Shed is a low-key and top-favorite Huntington restaurant that serves up comfort food favorites in a casual, rustic (yet still stylish) atmosphere. Stop by specifically for outdoor dining or brunch, or just any ol’ time for favorites like the chicken and waffles with habanero honey, blackened sea bass with dirty rice or the breakfast plate with steak, eggs, home fries and hollandaise.

If it's Mexican you're craving, try Besito, where the team is serving up new takes on Mexican favorites.
The upscale atmosphere is just the icing on the cake (or, the sugar on your margarita rim). Snag a reservation online before arriving and then sit down to enjoy Besito's famous guacamole alongside entrees like iron skillet tacos or a variety of enchiladas.

Leilu is a locally-owned and operated restaurant that focuses on seasonal American modern classics.
Try the house special Caesar salad that gets an upgrade with crispy kale, polenta croutons, deviled eggs and a manchego dressing. Or, don't miss the famous meatballs, made with red chili flakes and christened “Devil Balls.” The loaded pretzel is topped with those same devil balls and spinach artichoke dip, before being served alongside beer cheese. You could make a meal out of all the great apps on this menu, but try to save room for entree favorites, too, like the Leilu chicken, pan-seared and served with bacon-topped homemade mac ’n cheese.

If you're looking for some French flair...
Bistro Cassis is a French-inspired, cozy restaurant serves lunch, brunch and dinner, combining an upscale environment with an upscale selection of eats. Grab a glass of wine (or two) and tuck into French favorites such as coq au vin, cassoulet, bouillabaisse and more.

Check out IMC Restaurant and Bar for date night.
For a date night-worthy steakhouse experience, try the modern IMC Restaurant and Bar. The award-winning restaurant boasts a raw bar at dinner, a steak menu filled with Wagyu beef, all your favorite steakhouse sides and plenty of non-steak options for those who prefer seafood or something less carnivorous. Save room for dessert; the donuts are a must-try.
