Exploring New Brunswick’s natural wonders is at the top of every list for most-recommended things to do while in the province.

At Fundy National Park, you can check out the bay — which is known for having the highest tides in the world — as you stroll the beaches or get out in the water on a kayak, but also enjoy the scenery away from the ocean, such as with camping, hiking or, in the winter months, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.

Another unique natural wonder in New Brunswick is the Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park

These massive rock structures have been worn down by the tides over the centuries, creating beautiful sea stacks. Walk the beaches to see the more than a dozen sea stacks scattered along the waterfront.

If you prefer your nature to be a little more contained and quite a lot more curated, then make tracks for Kingsbrae Garden

This award-winning horticultural attraction sits on nearly 27 acres and blends more than 50,000 perennial plants with water features, artwork and old-growth forests across an array of themed gardens. Stroll the gardens and then stop into the garden café for a delicious taste of the local cuisine and produce.

For a glimpse of New Brunswick history during your trip, head to Village Historique Acadien.

The Vilage Historique Acadien is a living history attraction that showcases the lives of Acadian families from 1770 onward, with a smattering of historic buildings and a team of bilingual interpretive guides who are ready to introduce you to the region’s unique past in either English or French.

If you’ll be traveling to the north of New Brunswick, and you’d like to get in a little hiking, visit Mount Carleton Provincial Park.

There, you’ll find more than 42,000 acres of beautiful wilderness, filled with a mix of animal species, and nearly a dozen different trails, from a wheelchair-accessible trail to more rugged, strenuous hiking trails.

The highest peak is Mount Carleton, the park’s namesake, which is also the highest mountain in the Canadian Maritimes. From the top, you can see more than 10 million trees. The park is also a designated Dark Sky Preserve.
