Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, Beaufort, SC... Our Story-

Catholicism in the Beaufort area dates from the 16th century. Our Historic Saint Peter’s Catholic Church was built in early classical revival style and was dedicated on November 14, 1846, under the patronage of St. Peter - Prince of the Apostles and is the ninth oldest Catholic church in the Diocese of Charleston! As the population increased, the need for a larger facility became apparent. So in 1983, acreage was purchased on Lady’s Island to build a temporary church and was dedicated in December of 1987.

Our present Saint Peter’s Catholic Church was consecrated on April 29, 2006  and seats 1200 people. Perpetual Adoration is continually being held in the small chapel located at the rear of the church. We offer a variety of worship opportunities, internal and outreach ministries, a Catholic school (grades K-3 to 6) and other religious faith programs. We look forward to walking with you on your journey with Christ!
